For Italian food lovers, I would like to share with you, two of my favorite homemade pizzas recipies: Veggie Pizza & Chicken Barbeque Pizza. I started cooking at the age of eight with the help of my mom and grandma and I haven’t stop since then. Baking is my passion. My favorite type of cuisine is Argentinean, French and Italian. So ladies and gentlemen, here is taste of Italy for you. 

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

Ingredients for the dough:

2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon of sugar

1 tablespoon of dry yeast

¾ teaspoon of salt

2 tablespoons of olive oil

1 cup + 1 tablespoon of warm water.

Toppings:

Caramelized chopped onions saulted in butter and sugar

1 pack of fully cooked seasoned chicken, chopped

Honey barbeque sauce

Italian blend or Mozzarella shredded cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients to make the dough, kneading until smooth. Cover it with plastic wrap. Leave for at least 2 hours on the countertop at room temperature, letting it rise. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out with a rolling pin. Transfer the crust into a square pizza pan previously brushed with olive oil. Brush the dough with Barbeque sauce covering the entire surface. Add the toppings. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.

 

Veggie Pizza

Ingredients for the dough:

2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon of sugar

1 tablespoon of dry yeast

¾ teaspoon of salt

2 tablespoons of olive oil

1 cup + 1 tablespoon of warm water

Toppings:

Tomato Sauce

Pesto Sauce (some scoops)

Italian blend or Mozzarella shredded cheese

Pepper

Garlic

Oregano

Cherry tomatoes (1 cup)

Ricotta (some scoops)

Baby Spinach, chopped (small package)

Onion, chopped (1/4 of a big onion)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients to make the dough, kneading until smooth. Cover it with plastic wrap. Leave for at least 2 hours on the countertop at room temperature, letting it rise. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out with a rolling pin. Transfer the crust into a square pizza pan previously brushed with olive oil. Brush the dough with Tomato sauce covering the entire surface. Spread some scoops of pesto sauce evenly. Add all the toppings. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.

Serve with red wine or cold beer. Hope you enjoy it!

    Both sound fantastic! Getting a recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation is the best because you know they are tried a true and of course made with much love. If you make both for friends or family they will have a fantastic and varied selection.
